Saturday 2nd May 2026 – Race Start 10:00 am
Due to popular demand, we’re sticking with the route that went over the top for last year’s 200th anniversary special. This 5.6 miles (9k) route features road, path, trail, a splattering of mud, and the short and steep climb to the top of the Pad itself. The event starts from the Neilston Show field in Scotland’s 6th highest village and, after a short linking section on public roads, the off-road section circles and climbs the Pad before returning via the same route to the finish. It is primarily a trail race, but there are plenty of ups and downs. Runners of all ability are welcome, but you may be asked to bypass the Pad summit section if you are outside a generous cut-off time. Our planned route may be changed if there is storm damage or if forestry work is being carried out. Entry to Neilston Show is included and it’s a great family event, so why not make a day of it and enjoy the rest of the show after you’ve crossed the finish line?
Basic changing facilities are available for runners and bags can be left in the race tent (though it’s advisable not to leave anything valuable). Parts of the course will be muddy so you are strongly advised to wear off-road shoes.
Entrants for the run must be 16 years of age or over.
